Let's get curious about our feelings.

I know coming to therapy can be hard because you’re asking yourself to be vulnerable with a stranger in what may feel like a one sided relationship.

You can read about my approach below, but you also might like to know that I know what it’s like to be cut off from emotions, cut off from the body.

I struggled with depression and anxiety my whole life and was unaware of the trauma that was trapped in my body. If you were to ask me, I would have told you that I had an okay life and a more than okay childhood, but my depression and anxiety were telling me otherwise.

It wasn’t until my own journey of connecting to my body and creating a different, more in tune relationship with myself through therapy, that I could become aware and begin to process my pain.

I am passionate about...

  • providing culturally sensitive and gender-affirming counseling
  • using somatic techniques to help people reconnect to their bodies (where trauma and emotions are stored)
  • guiding people to get really curious about all parts of themselves and helping them create an accepting relationship with each part
  • guiding people through their trauma, shame and experiences to get to know each part of them (light and dark) deeper and begin to trust themselves
  • helping individuals rewire their brain and grieve old beliefs that no longer serve them
  • helping people get in better relationship with themselves

My approach

The neurobiology of being human is that we are all complex systems who need connection, are designed to be our best selves in relationships, and are always attempting to find coherence and integration.

With that, all of our behaviors, thoughts and feelings make sense and help us survive. Instead of judging or trying to change ourselves, let’s get super curious on why.

I trust that all humans are naturally moving towards this wholeness and inner peace and sometimes we just need guidance through our trauma, shame, and experiences to get there.

Through an interpersonal neurobiology lens, I help people develop a deeper, more holistic relationship with themselves so they can begin to be better attuned to their bodies, have genuine self compassion, learn to grieve on a daily basis, and trust themselves.

I use an integrated model that combines a full understanding of the central nervous system and brain and our parts that make up our internal world. When we can connect all parts of our brain, mind and body in acceptance, we can create new neural pathways to transform lives.

Therapy with me is a slow process not a quick fix. We might regress before we feel better because we’re discovering traumas that we might not have been aware of or opening old wounds we might not have fully healed yet.
